Mohammad Tsani Annafari, S.Si, M.Sc, Ph.D. memperoleh gelar Sarjana Sains pada Program Studi Ilmu Komputer Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta tahun 1998. Ia kemudian memperoleh gelar Master of Science pada Program Studi Global Information and Telecommunication Studies di Waseda University, Tokyo, Jepang tahun 2006.

Seusai menamatkan studi masternya, ia mendapatkan kesempatan melanjutkan sekolah di Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Swedia, dengan mengambil Program Studi Technology Management and Economics. Di kampus tersebut gelar Licentiate Philosophy diraihnya pada tahun 2010 sedangkan gelar Doctor of Philosophy diperolehnya di tahun 2012.

Saat ini, Tsani Annafari menjabat sebagai Penasihat Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) periode 2017-2021. Sebelumnya, ia merupakan Pegawai Negeri Sipil pada Kementerian Keuangan dengan jabatan terakhir Kepala Bidang Kepabeanan dan Cukai Kantor Wilayah DJBC Kalimantan bagian Timur. Selain bekerja sebagai PNS, ia juga pernah mengajar di beberapa kampus seperti STAN Program Diploma spesialisasi Kepabeanan dan Cukai, PUSDIKLAT Bea dan Cukai untuk Diklat DTSD II dan III, dan FISIP Universitas Indonesia di Program Magister Administrasi dan Kebijakan Perpajakan.
